The City of Wilmington has announced that beginning on July 1, 2013, a policy change will essentially require the seller’s realtor to take a digital picture of the water meter’s reading in order to obtain a water/sewer payoff from the City of Wilmington for settlements.
We ask that you use your camera phone and send these to the paralegal assigned to the file by email. If you do not send us a digital picture of the water meter, then the City of Wilmington will add a fee of $50.00 that must be paid at settlement along with the unpaid water/sewer bill.
